Fred Rogers was a pretty legit dood. I felt he was arguing for a viewpoint that has an objectively rational basis and don't think the basis of his presentation was emotional, although he did make quite an emotional appeal. He was concerned about how mass communications effects children. I think that is a valid concern, especially when they watch hours of TV everyday.
The effectiveness of his communication illustrated that the guy knew what he was talking about. That's what struck me.
