Huge regional differences in basic manners. Just generally going from West Coast to East Coast...really surprising the first time to see how loud, rude, and impatient people seem to be. I guess we're really just a lot more laid back over here. In the South there is a noticeably increase in Sir's and Ma'am's, and in the Midwest people seem a bit friendlier than the average. I found Boston a lot ruder than NY, but I was there for less than a week in both cases.
