The Second Amendment was about having an armed populace so communities could defend themselves from conquest and tyranny. The "someone broke out of a prison near my house and even though I've never shot a gun before I now need one for every room in my house" argument never came into place. FFS if you overreact that obscenely to shit like this don't live near a prison.

As you know, handguns sold freely in Michigan aren't being smuggled across the borders by American gangs, and then used to kill Canadians.
