We really should tell Turkey to shit or get off the pot. If they won't start fighting ISIS then we are gonna let the kurds have their little state so that they can do it properly. Again, we are bitching out here an trying to walk the middle path that does not exist. We don't fund the kurds to avoid pissing off the turks, but the turks don't do ANYTHING to fight ISIS or stabilise Syria, all they do is bomb the kurds, making it harder for them to fight ISIS. It's no wonder we can't find any Syrians or Iraqis to step up and fight for the values we believe in. The ones that do end up getting bombed by Russia or Turkey while we sit on our hands and "negotiate."

So we are what, 0/3 when trying to "influence" the middle east. Libya..shit. Iraq...Iranian shit. Syria...wartorn shit. We really need to accept that we are a country of pasty white folks who like fair accounting practices and protected negotiations. We are going to get jerked around by everyone in that region because it's a den of thieves who are significantly more adept than us at these sort of backstabbing political games.
