Lets apply some of these laws towards the second.
First, lets shut down enough of the gun and ammo stores in Texas where people have to drive about two hours to get service. And two hours is for the lucky ones - some will have to drive as many as six hours. Why are all these stores shutting down? Well, for starters, all stores selling guns and ammo must have a complete repair center at the location and be able to repair any possible problem with the gun. That means they need to have all parts on hand to service any gun they sell. Next, all employees that sell guns or ammo need to be considered experts and be able to make repairs on said guns themselves. But here's the kicker - the employees have to be rated to work repair at the actual gun manufacturer stores as well, meaning they need to be certified. The problem here is, the gun manufacturers have no incentive to do this, and in actuality do not want to certify anyone for these positions, due to liability reasons. Legally they can reject these employees from certification for any reason they want. And so they do. Thus, all the gun stores having to close.
Next, since we have shut down all those stores and there is still a demand and the supply isn't being met, you now have to make an appointment with one of the few remaining gun stores - sometimes up to a month away - before you can even visit the store to be able to purchase guns/ammo. Once your appointment comes, you have to wait 24 hours before you can actually buy a gun or ammo so that they can show you gruesome pictures of people that have died by gunshot and make sure that you are still wanting to buy a gun. You need 24 hours to think it over, obviously. Then, you have to come back the next day in order to actually get the gun. But then you need to come in again 2 weeks later to show that the gun is OK. Also, you are going to have to pay extra for guns and ammo because the store cannot keep afloat if they don't recover some of the costs for those extra visits. So expect to pay about twice as much.
Tell me with a straight face that Republicans wouldn't shit themselves to death if they had to abide by such absurd laws. And the sad thing is, this isn't even all of the restrictions. Just the newer ones.
