one of the big problems with boomers is that they've managed to do some underhandedness so other people end up supporting their shitcrazy policies. take for example obama. he gets elected on hope and change but said he was gonna make healthcare all free or whatever for old people. hope and change was needed -- AND STILL IS -- for the younger generations (because of the boomers). there's been no hope and change forthcoming and when he does do heathcare he throws a bone to the youngest generation -- you can be on parents healthcare until 26. CONGRADULATIONS.

when you get out of college and have to pay for rent, electricity, gas, water, car payment, STUDENT LOANS, heat, and internet and then have to pay for BOOMER HEALTHCARE you'll probably finally get angry. for the first time in your life maybe, really f**k angry at what the boomers have done. you're strapped with debt in order to try to make it today and you're drowning. instead of throwing you a life preserver the boomers are throwing you anvils.

your whole life you'd been buying into the boomer lie. you ended up voting for obama and he f**k you hard in the ear canal with no lube. with a black dick. it f**k hurts.

so what do we even do? boomers are 30% of the population. Another 13% are older than boomers. 24 percent of us can't vote. So what does that leave for genXers and millineals today? well it's roughly about equal to boomer size actually. but Kane is right, there is high amounts of indifference. this indifference is caused by depression that was caused by the boomers. most people think "WHY BOTHER?". in order to get us to vote out the boomers, we need to get angry at the boomers. full out generational warfare. we need a genXer to step up to the plate to be the face of a new republican or new democratic party. genXers are legally of age to be president now and one can come up and start selling hard truths. they need to talk to the younger people, tell them how things have been and what we need to do. they need to 100% not pander to old people. destroying their so-called entitlements is only way to save this country. democrat, republican, doesn't matter. i'm voting for THAT GUY. i know boomers are the number one threat to america and i know we need to destroy them. this information is slowly getting out there. more people are realizing it. maybe by 2016 it can reach critical mass and a genX candidate will step up. waiting until 2020 is so long.

Funny thing is John you never seem to direct any of your anger and rants at the boomer, Mitt Romney.. I wonder why? Seriously don't answer, I know why.. You're just another closet Republican. Nothing more, nothing less. You're just using the boomers to talk yourself into voting Republican, because your social ideology fits in with them.

You really don't care that Romney, the boomer, and in the name of greed, has destroyed American companies, has endorsed public HC, has hurt the economy by helping jobs go overseas, endorses wars, wants to increase defense spending, etc. etc.. If you are really PO'ed at the boomers and what you think they did to the economy, then people like Romney should be squarely in you sights... If you look at Romney's whole resume he's done more things that should really piss you off.. But you just seem to always direct your anger at Obama..

also, romney has not f**k my generation yet. obama has been doing it for years. why would i direct anger at some guy who literally has been just flying around the country talking for years, not doing anything

Whoa - way too much heated rhetoric. Can we stop the name-calling? Using a term like "boomer" is fine if it is used to describe a group of people. Calling someone a "boomer" perjoratively is not.

But, the proper question, as many have said, is "What are you going to do about it?"

The answer is rather simple. First, younger generations have to go vote. They WILL NOT wrest power from the older generations until they show that they will vote. Yes, at first they will have to vote for the old guy who is running for office. But, after 8 years (4 election cycles), they will have proven that they are politically active.

This brings in the second stage - getting younger people to run for office. Once people in their 30s and 40s (and their financial backers) realize that they can court a younger vote and actually win, more young people will actually run for office. And, with the help of a strong youth vote, they will begin winning.

Lastly, the younger people in office need to enact laws that encourage people of all ages to rely upon themselves. It means tying entitlements to incentives to get of those self-same entitlements. It means building the middle class. It means structuring tax laws to encourage people to work (ie: tax the rich more). Basically, enact policies that will raise the poor into the middle class so that they don't have to live off the government. Then, because more people are self-sufficient, entitlements will not be as great of a burden on the state, and taxes for everyone can be lowered (in the future).
