The thing is that Americans love lone wolves. They love to say they vote for the person, not the party. John McCain the maverick. Joe Lieberman the independent thinker. These are bullshit caricatures they make for themselves but people like it. That's why everyone cheered these reforms that took power away from the party at the time they were passed. Most lone wolf mavericks are opportunist assholes, not principled people.

Why is it a testament to government inefficient? Were Republicans obligated to launch 7 different investigations or was that a choice they made?

This is a testament to the depths to which the GOP has sunk. Not all of them I guess. Some recognize just how vile their "big tent" has become:

Fair summary of the far right at the end of that quote. Though defending ryan is laughable since the dude is kinda a joke. But he's better than the Freedom Caucas demagogues.

It was inefficient because it had nothing to do with actually conducting a proper investigation. Why would you have seven different investigations instead of one?

Answer: to keep this ongoing, all the way up to the 2016 elections. That, and to keep fanning suspicion where none is merited. Oh, there must be some there there, because there's another investigation!

Let's not forget the insane premise of this whole thing, the narrative they created to try and back into: that Americans died in Behghazi because evil Hillary and Muslim Obama ignored their pleas for help--even stopped help from arriving--and let them die.

Why? Because Liberals!
