My statement is that in reality the NRA is an arms and ammo dealer marketing organization, whose primary goal is to flood the market with as many weapons and bullets as possible to maximize profits. Under the guise of protecting Constitutional rights.
Which is why their marketing message is always the same: guns--we all need more guns. You are unsafe without a gun. Not just one gun, lots of guns. Not just a handgun, but an AR-15. And you must have a high-capacity mag because 15 rounds won't be enough to stop your killer.
And there must be no restrictions ever introduced other than the ones in place that don't work--because that would dent the bottom line. Of course we don't say that, we couch it in terms like this is how Hitler came to power and those kind of emotional appeals.

Maybe they should ban door kickerinners and other criminal activities. Oh wait, it already is banned. Never mind.
