But you did make up that definition. It isn't backed by dictionaries, history or the Constitution.
If the states weren't in control of the militia, why did the Militia Act of 1792 empower them to appoint officers and impose training specified by Congress? If militias were everybody, why did the same act specify able-bodied white males between 18 and 45 years old, and not everybody?
You are just straight up wrong, and trying to revise history to reflect your modern point of view. Gun advocates are notorious for this, which is why all the rulings that establish guns as an individual right are obvious garbage.
