I believe in tort reform but its only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to bringing down healthcare costs. Drug patents are another issue which is tied to it.

This is what happens when Obamacare tries to be something other than what it really is - Universal Health Care.

If you want UHC, own up to it, and do it the way it's supposed to be done.

If it needs to be tweaked in order to work, maybe have an option for reduced taxation equal to the amount someone chooses to spend on private care (if they do). Then, there would still be incentive for private care to exist and compete, while everyone is otherwise covered by UHC.
