Even though the 48 hour rule is meant to just provide an additional road block to keeping women from their constitutional rights, it wouldn't be so bad except for as uber mentioned, there are very few locations in the state where abortions are offered. For many people, having to drive hours to a clinic, then back home, then back to the clinic 2 days later is incredibly burdensome. You are trying to prevent impulsive decisions but then you have women shoving coat hangers inside themselves to terminate a pregnancy because of all the roadblocks being put up to make it difficult for them to go to a doctor and have a legal procedure performed.
Also because you believe that abortion should be at stigmatized and shamed, it's possible she wanted to do it at home so no one else would ever know.
