i went overboard, as usual, and gave way too many gifts. but how could i pass up a shirt for my 2 year old nephew that says "future pilot" (his father is a air force pilot) and has an x-wing on it? i can't pass that up. and so i got him way too much... but that's okay.

i got a nice new toolbelt, a thai cookbook, a packer's jacket and some other things like socks

Got my kid a bunch of bananas. Wrapped it in yellow tissue. Between freaking out because he saw bah-nah-naaaans! (by far his favorite thing in the universe), and zealously shredding the paper the rest of the day, we're pretty sure we couldn't have done better. He'll figure out what bath toys are tomorrow, and its going to be a disaster.

Got a fancy french press, an uninterruptible power supply for the office (ahem, nerd cave), and some pretty good bottles of wine and booze.

Merry belated Christmas to everyone. Or Happy Holidays or Winter Lights Festival or Happy Green Starbucks Cup day or whatever shit. Even to you, Phos.

No, that was what happened repeatedly.

I got him 2 star wars shirts, an outfit of a paid shirt, a sweater, some jeans, and a newsboy cap, a r2d2 cup, a book on how to speak wookie that had 10 different wookie sounds coming out of it, a stuffed Chewbacca bigger than him, and a stuffed saber tooth tiger.

Similarly I got his even littler sister a star wars shirt, a dress and legging, a stuffed wholly mammoth, this large electronic bouncing pig, and this walk-dog toy.

In both cases I had made decisions at some point as to how many I would get and then I thought, well, one more wouldn't be bad. This isn't too terrible with children, but it also happened with my mother. Well in her case it's more of me forgetting what u got her from online stores while shopping at a mall so she ended up with some fancy soap, a new hardcover book, a large wintery throw blanket, a rice cooker, a large gallon and half sized spode casserole dish, a Chromecast, and I can't even remember but I think there was one other thing.

Solid xmas. Copped dat new iPad, coach Wallet and ninja blender. Got my parents a smart scale, new jawbones, and smart blood pressure machine. Everyone else Nike gift cards.

Only thing that bothers me is i think they changed up the f**k words at church again. I thought the point of being Catholic is that you don't change shit and have to learn some new prayer every year. I may email the bishop no see if my priest is just out of line or if this is some new age Francis nonsense.

All the kid's are home so that's all I really care about. Got a spoon rest, cookbook, some snacks and a Thirsty Dog Brewing Co tin to add to my collection. My gramps fell and cracked some ribs a few days ago. My dad is going up to see him. Not thinking he's gonna last much longer and he won't be going home again but he's ready to go, can't understand why he's still here. I hope to god my youngest get's good news on his interviews next week. He's ready to go and we're ready for him to go. It sounds like he'd be happy working for them so fingers crossed.

I adopted a Mom and an 8 year old boy (Shane) for X-mas. I gifted an artificial Christmas tree, ornaments and an angel tree topper made from peacock feathers. For mom I got her a bath towel set, ceramic dish set, silverware and an alarm clock. The pair are in a homeless shelter program and were just accepted three days before Christmas so they literally had just the clothes on their backs and a furnished apartment. The Mom (Darla) had to be worried about things so I get a kick out of helping her give her little boy a proper Christmas morning. Shane received a Razor scooter, basketball, RC car, Shaq tennis shoes, Hotwheels track set-up, Nerf gun, and I got him a stocking with candy, a yo-yo, some more Hotwheels cars and a whoopie cushion to annoy his Mom with fart noises.

I'll never meet the pair but I got good feelings in helping and alleviating a Mom's worries for a brief time.
