There are so many other ways to save lives and improve public health that don't involve banning one of America's finest pastimes. Of course, they run counter to your stupid political agenda so here you are pearl-clutching about football instead.

Sports do get less safe the more gear you have. Get rid of helmets in football entirely and the sport is a lot safer the very next day.
Doesnt' make sense in hockey though because of the whole ice thing, and pucks hitting you in the head hurts like hell.
