Leaving is stupid. The EU is the largest economy in the world or at least jointly with the US. The UK is 2nd biggest economy within the EU and also one of the most populated which means the UK has considerably more power In the EU than most other countries (except Germany) within the EU. When making trade deals with other countries, who are they going to go to first A: The largest economy on the planet or B: The UK whose economy is roughly a 1/6 of the entire EU economy? Nobody is saying the EU is perfect, but we need to push for a better EU not turn our backs on it.
We've made a fair amount of beneficial opt-out deals with the EU from the Euro to Schengen and we can still make beneficial deals from within the EU. The out campaign points to countries like Norway and Switzerland as models to follow but they still pay a into the EU coffers, are forced to adopt EU legislation for access to the EU market and have absolutely no say over the decision making. It's time for Britain to decide what sort of country it wants to be in. Does it want to have influence and a say over what happens in Europe and the world as a whole or does it want to turn it's back on the world and become an isolationist country?
