Just thinking about it - combining her 2008 and 2016 primary runs, Clinton has, in one race or the other, gotten support from pretty much every major faction of the Democratic coalition. In 2008, she won working class whites, women, LGBT, labor and just plain old racists (yes, in placed like Alabama and West Virginia, racist Democrats are a significant part of the coalition). Then this time, she added in the previously elusive black vote, while winning women, LGBT, and much of labor again. There's one glaring omission here though: youngs. Whether it was a smooth young brother from the Chi talking about hope and change or a cranky 74 year old Jew from Vermont shouting about the New Deal and campaign finance reform, there's always someone who youngs find FAR more appealing an option than Clinton. Why is that? It's hard to believe that millennials are more sexist than boomers and Xers, besides which, among youngs, even women prefer Sanders to Clinton by big margins. Don't give me the "they don't even vote" shit. Some of them do, and they have spoken with consensus, that youngs don't like Clinton, and it goes beyond Obama's cool black guy appeal.
This is just a question to ponder and discuss by the way. I'm not suggesting that Trump will do better with the youngs.
