Meanwhile, these types of weapons are responsible for 2.7% of murders in the US, and are involved in only 27% of mass shootings. Beyond the logistics of recalling 4 million ARs, and beyond the stupidity of deciding that an arbitrary number of attachments that have no impact on performance turns something into an assault rifle, any prospective ban would do very, very little to lessen mass shootings.
