I would actually say it was less about if he was attempting to pull a weapon and more about whether or not the cops had him sufficiently restrained so as to neutralize the actual threat that attempt posed.
My belief about Zimmerman is more so based on the evidence we do have, like his 911 call where he's advised to keep a distance and promptly ignores it to confront Martin instead. But that is not sufficient to convict.

Well, at that point, as he's bleeding out with his eyes in the black of his head, it would be difficult to assign much motive to him flailing his arm back and forth. And if the fact that he was going for a gun AFTER they shot him seems a bit beside the point. It's more about what happened before they shot him.

The other aggravating thing is that in both videos, the camera pulls away after the first two shots and doesn't come back until after the second round of shots. That would be my other question, why the pause and then additional shots, but we have no video of that part.
