the music and the ship design leads me to believe that the federation and the klingon empire are much closer now than they have been. that cloaking sound at the end is klingon as well.

also the ship looks stupid as hell and i hope the CGI in the show isn't as godawful as that. and rumor has it this is pre-TOS which is bullshit. they wouldn't stick with enterprise to start and finish the romulan wars leading up to TOS they shouldn't be wasting time on it again. move beyond voyager for christs sake.

I'd heard it was going to split the difference between TOS and TNG....which could make some degree of sense considering the design and music since this period would have been the beginning of the Federation-Klingon alliance. I guess.

Apparently they really do view this as a throw away web series with shit for a budget.

i know nothing about the plot and it already sounds retconned and bad. wasn't cloaking tech banned in the treaty ending the romulan wars which were pre-TOS? wasn't the formal klingon-federation alliance not until like...a few years before TNG? they make it clear in the series it's a fairly new thing everyone has to deal with.

ugh. just ugh all around.

Whatever it is...they need to pick a universe and roll with it. They can do the JJ-verse...and do basically whatever they want. But if they are sticking with the prime universe...they need to make it fit with established canon. If they drop this anywhere between the events of the 6th movie (khitomer accords) and the destruction of the Enterprise-C (that one terrific episode with Yar)...then it really needs to fit into the timeline...because this period is pretty well understood in the lore. The ship design should appear somewhat logically in keeping. Crews should be wearing the old red uniforms, etc etc.

Honestly...they're probably trying to carve out their own little pocket universe where they can do whatever they want with no consideration for the material.

well if they do that they will kill the franchise. the prime universe will be dead.

Its dead already. And if its not, this horseshit about hiding it behind a CBS paywall will kill it for sure. The prime universe, anyways. The JJ verse seems to be doing fine.

Edit: Confirmed its in the prime timeline. IDKWTF is going on anymore.
