My niece asked me what my great grandfather was like as a human being.
I said that you keep asking me about industrial age American urban history 1000 different ways, stop it now, please.
And the answer will be no different now.
My great grandfather was a filthy, STUPID, white trash, inbred, evil rotten scumbag who was addicted to powerful substances, sometimes through his overdone beer, and sometimes though his Soda, that would have been Cocaine.
And he had a lot more lead in his body than people do today.

He was a hate crime, Anti-Black SERIAL KILLER who got away with it.
He was a wife beater and a spousal rapist... who got away with it.
He was a bank robber who got away with it.
He beat people up in the streets for no reason.. and got away with it.


I never met him, I never heard anything that I just said, about him... I just know because I know recent history.
