Here's the thing: I have never gone into a Star Wars movie expecting any sort of serious plot. I go into a Star Wars movie to stare blankly at a screen and admire the CGI and see some cool action shit that admittedly makes no sense at all.

So when people point out flaws it really doesn't impact my experience. I can even admit that what she says is correct without lessening my enjoyment whatsoever. It's Star Wars, a kids series that has never made any sense. The problem with you guys - and guys like phosphide in particular - is that you have allowed the series to become something it is not... A serious thing. You care about character development and plot arcs and logical continuity. I could give a shit less about that, all I want is two hours of not thinking about anything important, and that is exactly what is delivered.

i wasn't talking about the plot at all. i was talking about the character arcs. i too do not expect a serious plot. star wars always had a simple plot; it's a movie for kids. but it also had very memorable characters you connected with which is what made it a good story for all its flaws. phospide hated episode 7, but i loved it because yeah, it was the same plot as a new hope but it's a pass because it still had great charachters and arcs and it was wonderfully pulled together which made the story good (granted, could have been better, but it was still good). rogue one had a singular memorable character, the robot, whatshisname
