Based on how Trump supporters and the GOP in general are already targeting Comey as well as dismissing Clapper (he's just going crazy/senile) I don't think much will come of this until something more substantive comes about.
I'm afraid that Ex is right here, the GOP has literally become an enemy to the US. I hate making extreme statements like that but I think it's true. I think Bannon plans to use Breitbart to support Trump's agenda via the ethics waivers. I think that so long as Trump is POTUS norms will continue to be challenged and all because the GOP has tied itself to this man. It is truly stunning watching this unravel in real time. In the United States.
The only real takeaway from all of this is the following:
It doesn't matter if there was or wasn't collision between the Russians. Trump is either this ignorant/dumb or is actually this sinister/malevolent. Either way the net effect is the same: the degradation of checks and balances, the loss of US leadership in the world and the very dangerous power vacuum that leaves, and a dangerous increase in partisanship as Trump and the GOP drive the wedge further.
I'm not optimistic here.
