Had a discussion yesterday - a buddy at work and I were debating Trump's...
being. Basically we came down to agree that Trump really isn't doing the "Mad King" bullshit or "Good cop/bad cop" in diplomatic circles. It's just an easy out for his associates and himself when he does something retarded. And Ezra Klein or Matthew Yglesias made this point yesterday in a podcast as well - Trump isn't some scheming mad man subtly using the levers of power to advance his own interests. He's an idiot savant and a good entertainer. He knows next to nothing about government, legislating, law, etc. He's really good at real estate and branding...and that's about it.
So when you see somebody trying to make sense of something he said or did and attempting to delineate his goal just know this: that's just him. It's him doing what he does. There is no rhyme or reason - he literally is this dumb. The Trump doctrine? Guys, he doesn't have one.
Trump Doctrine:
1. Look awesome
2. Get People to love me
3. Continue awesomeness
The only saving grace to his presidency now is that all of the really rotten apples have been forced out by the establishment and the figures in his admin meant to steady its hand. But Trump's still in there...not knowing what the f**k he's doing. It's literally that bad.

Just about three more years to go.
