He didn't say all African nations were shitholes, he allegedly implied at least two of them are. Further, not wanting to accept people from them is because the people are fleeing and likely aren't high value in terms of what they offer, unlike people that had a first world education, for example, to pick a first world nation at random, Norway.
Just because I won't say everything the man says it's racist doesn't mean I support him at all. In fact I'm saying this because I think it is extremely counterproductive towards the goal of DACA solution and ultimately ending his reign as it's the wrong tree to be barking at. In this case it was undiplomatic and he shouldn't have said it for that reason. It's also shows he has a fundamental misunderstanding of the value of immigrants. China has similar policies to apparently what he wants and they are poorer for it as they have a brain drain and no one to replace it. Yeah, immigrants from poorer nations often compete for jobs against high school dropouts here. So what? High school dropouts were given opportunity and they wasted it. Speaking facts about how immigrants are net gain to the country they immigrate to is far more productive. If Congress passes a continuation budget and reasonably addresses DACA, and it goes on his desk, he'll have to sign it if public opinion is behind the bill. But if it's a story about how he's being besieged about comments he made in private which are just taboo to say but most people agree with... Then he won't as he'll feel that the people are behind him, and many will be
