Yeah their portfolios are better preforming than people convicted of insider trading. Their pay should matter; they should have everything in blind trust during their service

But this shutdown thing, CNN has legitimately lost their minds. Go to the front page of CNN. It's got a count up for how long this ongoing disaster has been. They actually have stated that this is causing NASA to stop monitoring asteroids for potential impact. We have no plan for that anyway, jesus. If Reagan's schtick was "it's morning in America", Trump's is "it's almost midnight" and it's clearly worn off on CNN

And jdhurf, it's called being cheeky. He can do that. He does think highly of himself and his intelligence sure, and vastly overrates both, but good god it's a joke

It's hysterical. It barely matters short term that it happens. The bigger problem is lack of budget for long term spending, not lack of continuing resolutions

The headline on CNN as I post this is "SHUTDOWN STALEMATE". Which is exactly what's happened. It's not hysteria. And recording time isn't either.
