we do need structural changes but i think the french model of presidency is better -- the VP is basically the prime minister and selected from the legislature, and handles internal affairs, while the president, elected by the people, handles international affairs/military. a removal of the electoral system for the president, together with party-ballot voting in the house for the entire state under the webster methodology and a senate that is a mix of direct elected and state-selected members (1 from each) and from which the VP is selected by the house every 4 years, 2 years after the president is elected (every 4 years), i think we would make some serious changes to our government structure that would be a benefit for the entire nation and world while still keeping powers separated
also it's not like the parliamentary system of england is all f**k roses. they are constantly switching and fighting over going hard or going soft on brexit, for example
