If you cede power in order to reform the party I don't know that you'll actually accomplish anything. Eventually I suppose those in power would be held accountable once shit goes bad. But how long could that take? Have you seen these Trump voters?

That just sounds nuts to me. The House obstructing for two years is preferable for me to giving Trump carte blanche as he gets more attuned to the powers and levers of the Presidency.

In order to accept that the Dems have nothing to lose are you willing to accept the country has little to lose? You think the GOP will rein Trump in? Or at least control for him? Or have you just accepted that Trump will truly f**k things up and just gone full "idgaf?"

They already hit rock bottom. They don't control anything, they lost the courts, their Queen lost to Donald Trump, and now guys like Joe Kennedy III are being cultivated for leadership roles. I see no indication whatsoever that the supposed changes implemented are having a positive impact, or that they are moving away from their city-stronghold-only organizing plans, their obsession with dynasties, their pandering to the professional and Wall St. classes, etc. Maybe you can provide an example of the party making a serious, substantial change? Because I can't.
