And don't get me get started on the abortion stuff. No school shooter has ever cleared a room of all kids and left no suvivors like abortionists do

i saw an interesting proposal the other day but now i can't find it. it started off with the very clear observation that there are 5% on one side who want to confiscate guns and 5% on the other that want no regulation on anything and 300 million americans are stuck in the middle of a culture war that goes nowhere

the heart of it was compromise on both sides, with a background check system where you logged in on the internet, got a code that was good for a week that is associated with your ID. then you took it to anywhere you wanted to buy a weapon and they had to log in, put in the code, checked to see if it was valid. they'd also check to see if it was you associated with that code. they'd sell you a weapon if it all checked out

in addition there would be a way for family members and people living with people to ask to have weapons taken away from a person and have special court orders regarding it, and went into some detail

also bump stocks are banned

on the other side of the compromise, suppressors and sawed off shotguns would be removed from the same level of restrictions as grenade launchers. in some places in the world suppressors are mandatory to use as they bring a gun shot down to only a bit louder than a jackhammer, but possibly save the ear from permanent damage. in places like norway, which has only a little less gun ownership rates than america (not guns, we have way more guns, i'm talking about the number of people that own guns) it's considered rude to hunt without one. same with sweden. you don't even really hear the shot when you are hunting without a suppressor but i mean, it happened. it was loud. it was really loud. and it can really damage your hearing. exposure to sounds louder than 140 dB can damage your hearing, and hunting rifles are like 165dB+. as logrithmic scale, a 30db sound is 1000 times louder than near complete silence. suppressors reduce gun shots by about 30 dB -- right around what ear plugs can do, maybe a bit more -- so you're down to just under immediate damage to your hearing, but still higher than the sound of a jet engine right next to you. and as for the sawed off shotgun part, it was a quirk of the legislation that it got in. originally they were trying to ban handguns and they put in stuff to address the concept of someone cutting down long guns and claiming it wasn't a handgun. the handgun stuff failed, but they neglected to clean up the other stuff. the difference between a 15" shotgun and a 16" shotgun is 10 years in jail, and that's ridiculous

The shooters are usually a member of the student body itself. Maybe they should take a look at themselves too.

Much as I enjoyed seeing younger folks walk out and march for something that's a serious problem, I am now a bit skeptical in the sense that this might not affect change all that much, considering Sandy Hook apparently didn't do enough convincing.

These famous kids and the march has been orchestrated by the media and their narrative. There is a reason the media is not allowing children at Parkland who oppose gun legislation to speak or ever get air time. I guarantee none of you have heard of any name for kids at Parkland who oppose legislation. All you see are the same 5 kids being paraded on national tv screaming the same 5 things. Americans will not sit here and listen to 17 year olds who’s argument is simply if you don’t do something then your a child killer.

These marches are entirely fabricated and it won’t bring change. Real change comes from the people and movements generated by real emotion and true facts, not media fabricated emotion.

CNN paraded elementary kids (literally 6-7 year olds) walking out for protest, kids who don’t even know what politics is.

CNN put a 7 year old child on national tv because he was writing a will Incase he was killed at a school.

The only good thing they ever did was interview the police chief who claims he has excellent leadership.

very unfair to fstar. the truth is they are being used as pawns

i saw some kids from parkland in person the other day. the stoneman douglas high school hockey team won state a few days after the tragedy, and so they were up in the state of hockey for nationals. the kid who was selected to say "this is our ice, so say it with me, let's play hockey" like all sorts of people to at the beginning of the game... well he f**k up and was the first person i heard "shit" come out of on that mic, and all his buddies were laughing and pushing him around. and later i could see them in their suite just f**k around because they're at a hockey game in an awesome suite. because... they are kids. that's all they are.

why the hell weren't they protesting outside the sheriff's office, demanding he be fired? demand that police officers never let this kind of thing happen again? that kitty officers that won't save kids are removed from the line of duty? isn't enforcement of today's laws important?

they weren't protesting the sheriff's office because that's not what they powers that be (hysterical media) want them to protest. yeah, there were so many things that should have stopped this event from happening -- but lets go after the thing that for the most part is extremely safe, guns. it's why they don't interview the kids who are against gun control either. the news in this country is no longer reporting it's trying to actively shape the outcome of culture wars
