Seems comparable to me. And, since that's what "copyright" law depends upon, it's relevant.

Thats funny, comparing the app drawer of android to homescreen of iOS. They literally got a billion dollars for patenting rectangle with rounded edge and square icons.

Wow - look how similar all these phones are to the iPhone! Too bad they ALL came out BEFORE the iPhone.
Yeah, I think that Samsung obviously stole their design cues from Apple. They designed a time travel machine (probably illegally copied from Doc's DeLorean), traveled to the future, saw how big a hit the iPhone was, went back to 2006, and started designing phones that looked like the iPhone.

It wasn't that they "patented the rectangle" it was that Samsung had a set way of doing things, then started coping Apple after Apple released their way of doing things.

i think the case shows the flaws in the patent laws that are currently on the books. they are outdated and stifle competition. patenting rounded rectangles on a display is like patenting blue shirts
