So, to review:

1. North Korea is continuing to make and process nuclear fuel, to be used in weapons.

2. North Korea is in the process of or has currently completed new buildings of unknown purpose at its nuclear site.

3. North Korea has not returned the remains of any US soldiers from the Korean war.

4. The Central Committee of North Korea has told the South Koreans that they will not give up their nuclear arsenal, as of yesterday. This is the latest statement we've heard about it from any part of the North Korean government.

5. The only concrete, material change in capabilities is that North Korea has disassembled infrastructure it no longer needs.

What do you conclude from this, Hurf? "Give peace a chance?"

I don't care for nuclear disarmament. It is pointless and stupid. You can't put whatever comes out of Pandora's Box, back. Nuclear armaments are the only thing standing between us and Russia, North Korea, China, Iran and Pakistan.

There is no functional difference between a person who wants to abolish nuclear weaponry, and the ape who got upset that another ape thought to pick up a stick to defend himself.

Nuclear weapons will never go away because they are useful in the extreme and have led to the single greatest era of peace in human history. You'll get butthurt by that because it is built on abject misery, but hey, what entitled little bitch wouldn't?

As for North Korea, what I would expect is that we stop pressuring them to give up their nukes. Because they have them now, and they would be insane to give them up, because if they do, the US will elect some f**k nutcase who will destroy them. If not the US, China, or Russia, or South Korea, or someone else. All that matters is trying to alleviate the suffering of their citizens - any other goal is delusional.

I think my problem with Hurf's arguments is the naivete.

It's nice to want world peace and to pursue it through diplomatic means but inject some realism in there too man.

Why is it down to the US to be the "honest broker?" Why does everybody else get to slide?

It's too bad that you appeared to have begun going into a more sensible discussion and became incapable of restraining your irrational hyperbole and fallacious premises. Nuclear weapon upgrading and buildup is pointless and stupid. In fact, it is itself one of the greatest existential threats facing human life. It's only been by miraculous chance that the world has avoided nuclear holocaust. Dozens and dozens of instances are documented wherein nuclear war was initiated by automated systems and only at the last second avoided by human intervention.

There is no functioning difference between a person who wants to maintain nuclear weapons, and the baboon who picks up a grenade to prove to itself that it's a badass at the risk of all life in its vicinity while other baboons want the grenade to be safely disposed of.

Nuclear weapons may be abolished and should be because they are the greatest threat to the survival of human life. You'll get butthurt by that because is predicated upon educated, rational analysis, but hey, what reactionary, belligerent idiot wouldn't?

The correct course on North Korea is diplomatic negotiations and a peaceful resolution. As long as the NPT isn't allowed to function properly demanding the nuclear disarmament of North Korea is not effective. A peaceful settlement on the Korean peninsula doesn't require complete nuclear disarmament of North Korea. It's been obvious for years that North Korea has been open to negotiations for a freeze on further nuclear weapon buildup in return for a nonaggression pact and a subsiding of sanctions that further cripple the economy which North Korea wants to develop.
