It's kinda surreal that an implication isn't an implication. Sort of like when the truth isn't the truth. Or when facts can be alternative. That sort of thing. All surreal.

What I was expecting honestly was some sort of legalistic "we aren't discussing this at this time". Instead of space cadet nonsense. But your right...should have been expecting the crazy.

Remember: the conclusion to all of this will be determined politically, not through standard legal practices. Saying "Nope, no way, nuh uh," is going to play better with the GOP base and leadership than legalese. This tactic has proven to be very effective for Trump and I would expect they will use it to the very end.

They're basically giving Trump the green light here. What are they going to do? Attack him for pardoning Manafort? He's done worse already (obviously). Seriously, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they're using the media to telegraph to Trump that he should pardon Manafort. They won't do shit about it. Red line? but of course this is really a spin off of the mueller investigation, and should probably be in its own thread. mueller found evidence of wrongdoing but referred it to state authorities because it was outside of his purview. we haven't even gotten to that yet.
