If people truly understood the actual scale and consequences of the ecological collapse on the horizon, they'd laugh at how the Green New Deal doesn't remotely go far enough. They'll look back with disgust on how, when faced with absolute proof that our industrial extractive society was undeniably unsustainable, that we couldn't even give up f**k straws lol. Doesn't really matter if it's possible or "logical", either you believe the earth's resources are finite, or you live in fantasy-land. We probably won't ever willingly give up our goodies and creature comforts and the collapse will happen, humanity will survive but live a drastically different way. But what WOULD have been necessary to avoid it will certainly be clear in hindsight, to our children and theirs.
