Just got back. Amsterdam is cool as f**k.
Spider, i believe the mayor of Amsterdam has said that they would ignore any ID scheme for the coffee shops. I don't know if the smart shops which sell magic mushrooms Will be affected or not.
The red light district was actually really good fun. I was expecting it to be sleazy, but it's by far the most popular tourist attraction. All different types of groups walking past the windows checking out the prostitutes and it was all done in a fun, open minded atmosphere where checking out a peep show or sex show for a laugh was just part of the tourist experience and popular with guys and girls equally.
The city really does have the right attitude to sex and drugs. Very impressed.

i was surprised at how decent-looking the red light women were. at least on fridays and saturdays. we perused the area on a thursday afternoon as well and.....well, there's some things you can't un-see.
