No, the problem is everything goes where it should but it doesn’t work. I have the three way switches and all the wires, the red, two black a ground and a neutral. All are properly hooked up and I’ve played with switching the blacks and even the red and none of the combos work. The switches work now but one switch is a master and when it’s off, there is no power to the other switch. It’s something with the smart switch because I can get the three way to work properly when I put the dumb switch back on.
There are several different ways a three way circuit can work so this isn’t straightforward. It’s the same thing in the garage, when the gfci trips and the reset is behind the panel (and you don’t know this) things don’t work. It’s not just connecting the wires as in the instructions, that i can do. Yea i can f**k with this all afternoon, but that’s not worth it and the more you start f**k with stuff the more you could screw something up.
