You have spent $6 trillion so far propping up dog-shit. It has been about a month and a half since this thing really kicked off. We've got at least a year and a half until a vaccine, and probably another six or more months until some kind of treatment schedule becomes available.
You could give $18,000 to every single American citizen for that price, and that would be enough to last them months.
Take the f**k hits now. Get it over with. It is literally impossible to avoid massive business losses under these conditions. The first businesses you let fail are the ones who have f**k up over and over and over again, all while sucking the government tit and taking on absurd levels of debt. The assets will be sold off and hopefully a more competent manager comes along to put the pieces back together.
You can indirectly support business by focusing your relief efforts on average Americans. Stimulate consumer spending by giving them security against not being able to afford rent and food. Help them pay their residential and commercial rent by giving them unconditional monthly income until this thing gets worked out. You can even subsidize wages to some extent, at least up to a certain dollar amount per job.
Not a single goddamn analyst out there has any idea how much it is going to cost to prop up the absolute f**k morons who run the finance world. And if you asked them, they wouldn't even want to guess, because it is 100% going to be an amount so absurd that you could take on every necessary daily expense of every American citizen, indefinitely, and still spend less money.
