Hilarious how every time you get into a conversation with a Brit they want to talk about ancient history. It's about as pathetic as the guy who squanders away the family fortune yet never shuts up about how wealthy his father was.

Yeah fine the term "British" came from the Island being called Britain which is because the Britons lived there before the Anglo Saxons invaded.

Bottom line, Vikings are cooler. No one would ever name a sports team "The British"

The Britons are named such because the island was known as Britain by the Romans. The people were calle Celts by the Romans, but that it also a term they used to describe other northern European tribs, meaning "painted people", because of their propensity to go into battle with Woad on their faces and bodies.

Well Britons or Celts, they lived there and when the Anglos arrived and conquered them I'm sure they had a good rape, which means you're most likely descended from the people the Romans called Britons as well,right?

Most Brits in 2012 (the pale ones anyway) are mostly Anglo-Saxon with some Norman. Those people in the Celtic Fringe (Scotland, Wales Northern Ireland and Cornwall) will claim Celtic heritage, but it's really only those with red hair who display any real dominance of Celtic genetics.

But we're all mongrels really. No such thing as ethnic purity.
