COVID-19 Accelerating Across the US

Today Trump attacked the CDC and then the announced it will release revised guidelines in a week.

Anybody in a leadership position want to speak out about this?

I suspect our county will see a bit of an uptick. We had our 3rd confirmed case in the county today. A HS kid who uses the HS weight room (around with 50 others) got it. It's a really small enclosed area with people coming and going at all times and there is no way it's sanitized well enough between uses. I know we're not like Arizona yet, but people are being idiots. One of my wife's former student teachers got married a week and half ago, They had 300- 400ish guests.

I just found out the name of the family whose kid got the covid. They are big republican supporters, they took Don Jr hunting on their land last year, would not surprise me in the least they've been at some of the republican fundraising things Don Jr and Kimberly Guilfoyle have been at in MT recently where she apparently picked it up too.

It's pretty much game over for the US. We can't test and trace with this many infections on a daily basis and in so many states. Atlanta CDC has already admitted that.

We are pivoting to the Swedish model which against its european peers is a failure on both the safety front as well as the economic front. Why? Because with or without the lockdowns people need to feel safe enough to want to go out and shop, eat, etc. As other financial observers have noted - controlling the spread of the virus is directly tied to economic performance.

The GOP has decided to learn this the hard way. Again. Because they are infantile babies that don't care about the health of the US citizens are would rather pursue the dollar (which coincidentally is also losing value as the US becomes less and less of a safe bet given the circumstances).

Annnnnd fatalities are now rising at a noticeable clip. Not surprising because there is a lag - incubation can last 14 days and then you can go a week to several weeks more before death. Broadway actor had been dealing with COVID since March just passed this week.
