CDC says it will not revisit school guidelines

my sister has been crying about these guidelines, how she's going to homeschool her kids if they have to wear masks. it's such a bizarre position, but it all stems from the fact she has a kid with down's syndrome and doesn't want him treated different and also doesn't want him to have to wear a mask because he should be treated different. i told her just practice with the masks now, kids learn to wear the clothes needed to function in society and she gets all mad

anyway, i hope they are mandated everywhere. a fool's hope but a hope nonetheless

I got a scam call from people posing as the local public health authority today. I clued in when they asked me for private information, which I refused to give because nobody legit will ever ask for information over the phone.

I played it out long enough for them to ask for a CC number, in order to pay for testing that is obviously free under our system. Just wanted to see what the end game was.

I reported the number, though it was clearly spoofed.

Be careful out there. I'm gonna guess these scams will be more prevalent in the US, due to your health system and the market being larger. Take the time to remind your parents and grandparents that they should never give out personal information, under any circumstances, over the phone.

US is going to be at a million cases a week by next month. i see a lot of missing groceries again.

I wish people would just stay the f**k away from here. Oh let's go vacation in MT, it's safe there, no please don't. Anecdotal but one of my clients says their restaurant is busier now than it was at this time last year and they move a lot of people through there in the summer. He is seriously worried one of his employees will come down with it and then they'll have to completely shut down and quarantine everyone. They had a memorial for a local guy at the bar last Sunday, packed wall to wall with overflow into the street. Another local kid who plays for the MSU Bobcat Football team came down with it. I suspect it will end up running rampant through the college sports teams especially if they have a season this fall. At least the post office clerks started wearing masks this week.
