I agree that it is folly to put the kids back in classrooms. It's not like a bubble which has worked for months now; unless the kids are going to boarding school and are sealed off it's setting up for tragedy. However, at least with increased testing, it can probably be contained once it starts up (which would be lockdowns). It's too early to be doing this stuff: Christmas 2021 is what we must hope for this to be over by, not Christmas 2020.

Federal Reserve to meet today to lay out interest rate path - no changes expected - market is maybe up on that? Retail sales only up 0.6% for August and revised down for June and July - September could very well show no growth or a decline.
UST 10 yr continue to show unease and a rush to a safe haven. VIX remains at a historically high level relative to past trends.
