Recent board issues (fixed for now)

Sorry about the recent board issues. I normally check in every 2-3 days just to make sure nothing has gone boom, checked yesterday and saw boom. Since I had an appointment with the eye doctor, I couldn't do much later on in the day as everything was an illegible blur to me, but I did contact our host today and had them revert software updates. I don't know that it will be a permanent fix or not really, but the safest route going forward is either updating PHPBB to a newer version so there won't be conflicts or just outright moving the board's platform to something else. Reddit, Facebook, Tiktok =P Open to suggestions as far as other platforms go, and also I don't really have the time to spend on here much these days so someone else would need to take the reins if the platform moves.

If death is imminent, just want you to know that I appreciate your efforts over the years to keep this tiny little enclave up. Crazy that most of us have been doing this for 17 years or thereabouts across different iterations. Personally, I cannot stand Reddit and avoid it entirely, and am not even on Facebook and haven't been for a very long time. To much of a geezer I guess for all these dumbed down platforms designed for phones and thumb typing on a silly little touchscreen. *raises glass in salute*

They found another dead body up the street but no arrow this time. Some woman that froze to death, possibly. Maybe homeless. I've done some walking during the lockdowns and end up walking past a few small camps. The cops make them move and trash their tents, but someone has to complain. That's the new snitch society.
