(1) Ballooning deficits;
(2) Significant expansion of executive authority and erosion of constitutional norms;
(3) the war crime of invading Iraq;
(4) the war crime of incompetently invading Iraq;
(5) creation of refugee crisis that destabilized an entire region and led indirectly to the breakup of the EU;
(6) failure to see and address the underlying causes of the financial crisis of '08;
(7) sued to prevent the counting of votes and securing his electoral victory (voting is a kind of important institution);
(8) completely abdicated any policies addressing climate change and kicked off the GOP penchant for pretending it doesn't exist; and
(9) politicized the DOJ before Trump made it cool.

I dont believe panic is the answer nor will motivate the masses effectively...

The messaging and guidance provided by public leaders has been mixed... poor in many cases early on and misguided at times... not due to any attempt at deception, but purely we, the world, just didnt know or have all the right answers to effectively combat the virus. The world is still learning about this damn thing... the journey continues and its far from over.

The shutdowns put in place in March - May... did one important thing. It slowed the spread and infection rates enough to enable our health care systems to get the materials and processes in place to better handle the infection impacts and ability to treat more people better. Still more work to be done... Id say were not even half way there on managing this effectively. But are far better equipped globally than in March/April. The journey continues and its far from over.

The downside of the shutdowns is it economically suppressed the global and local economies pretty badly. It also stored up a lot of fear and pent up energy by people unable to adapt to the restricted social and economic containment. Psychological issues are growing like weeds and increasing exponentially... Thus the social unrest and people throwing informed caution to the wind with large social gatherings. Panic is the last thing needed in this realm as it will only result in increased crime, property destruction, human issues... depression, suicide, addiction and everything associated... The journey continues and its far from over.

Panic is the wrong medicine here... Thoughtful resolve and calmness are whats needed everywhere. This pandemic is 100 real. A certain percentage will get really sick and die... its unavoidable. A larger percentage will not get really sick and die... accept these facts and remain calm.

Take reasonable precautions to put yourself in a desirable risk position to protect yourself, loved ones and those around you. The guidance on avoiding large gatherings, social/physical distancing, wearing masks in public/indoor places, washing your hands, etc... wont guarantee anyone from being infected, but its all inexpensive, simple, and reduces the risk of spreading by a measurable percentages. Its a reasonable consideration with no significant other/better options available.

Calm down and enjoy the life you have... right now. The journey continues and its far from over.

I agree that the Coronavirus is real and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm also aware that in many parts of the US, the infection rate is very high. All one has to do is look at Texas, Florida, Georgia, California and New York, for starters (those poor people - sucks to be them).

Having said that, I currently live in a part of the world where my chances of getting Covid-19 is rather unrealistic. For example, there are approximately 36,000 people in the county where I live (my state only has just over 100 CONFIRMED cases right now, out of a population of approximately 1,340,000). My county has 6 confirmed cases, out of a population of about 35,800 people. So, bearing all that in mind, I have roughly a 1 in 6,000 chance of contracting the Coronavirus.

Furthermore, since it's my understanding that Covid-19 only kills just over 1% of folks who get it, my chances of dying from it is so small, I probably have a better chance of a plane landing on my head or winning Powerball.

Personally, I'm more worried about cancer or heart disease (our chances of dying from those maladies at some point in our lives is 1 in 7), dying from chronic lower respiratory disease (1 in 28), Intentional self-harm/I.E. shooting oneself (1 in 95), being killed in a car accident (1 in 114), Falling and dying (1 in 127) or assault by firearm (1 in 370). I have never been calmer and happier in my life and where I am right now - to be blunt, I don't worry about what the rest of the world has anymore, I just have FUN. Oh, my state went through all the protocols with Covid-19, including the lock downs back in March and April. We still wear masks and observe the social distance rules (some of the protocols I see as rather nonsensical, but I have done my part). I have all but mastered the guitar and flute, during all the events of the past six months or so. I may even decide to pursue my music full time and forget the BS job I had prior to Covid. But that is another subject matter......

I won't go further into the politics of the Coronavirus - yes, it is real and it is what it is. My point is this: Do you really want to be safe and be guaranteed that you won't get this virus?? MOVE.

B - It’s now up to us.
C - All we have to do is make the right choices (like get vaccinated) and this will be all over.
D - He has no certainty about “C.”

I agree on all points - especially “D.” Being that (according to Fauci on ‘Meet the Press’ today) 50% of Trump voters will NOT decide to get vaccinated, I have no certainty that we don’t still have a long haul ahead of us. Trump needs to tell his supporters to get vaccinated - otherwise, the worst may be yet to come. Will he man up? Hell, no.

So, prepare for another round, folks. We are merely in the eye of a Category 5 Hurricane here - and it will get worse, when the GOP wins in 2022 and 2024.

But, we are in “The End of Times,” right Trump supporters? You don’t care about the Pandemic and other variants, because Jesus is going to fly down from the Sky on a white horse and save you any day now. I know what you think, but please spare me. Just remember that it takes an a****le to make s**t happen.
