the judiciary in the US is probably our worst institution. 9 unelected and unaccountable yet entirely political old people pretending that they are wise and making decisions that should be held to the people
the US' institutions are old which makes them brittle enough but the assault on them this century has just about destroyed them
I think the US needs a new constitution, we need to form a second republic. but people are not willing to do that, they'd rather just abuse what is there to pretend things are X or Y way. i think we still have to fall farther before we can fix this. Like TR always said, Americans don't learn from experience, only catastrophe. unfortunately for literally everyone on this planet, the entire global security apparatus was attached to America's Atlan shoulders
