I had this crazy father-in-law that believed jalapenos cured cancer. He used to argue to everyone that he had all the proof in the world. All he did was ask, "when was the last time you've seen a Mexican with cancer?"

The proof was that no one could think of one.

i have an in-law kinda sorta like this, not that far out there though. i used to argue with him but now i just get hammered and egg him on.

Just for the record...my father isn't an academic. Or scholar. That was me being sarcastic. He's an engineer, inspects welds, and has an extensive past with Beryllium and space bound objects.
