The problem isn't not having a "stalemate," the problem is elected officials who believe their #1 priority is to inflict damage on the other party, regardless of what's good for the country or its citizens. They were elected to do a job, yet took office to wage a war.
We see that now more than ever. Hence the venom directed at Christie for daring to actually WORK with Satan himself.
The problem is that now people are voting on those same priorities, even when it's not at all in their self-interest.
This kind of gridlock/stalemate/lack of any meaningful action isn't something to be admired, it's something to be abhorred. Our political system is currently the laughing stock of the world.
