Looks like some competition here, although we are still farther ahead.

Looks like a pretty obvious rip off of the F-35, another reason why anything classified should never go within 100 miles of a networked computer.

I fail to see beyond the black paint what makes it 'stealth' though.

I don't know much about this topic, but like Boris said, I though stealth planes tended to look much different than this.

It's the paint that provides the stealth characteristics. It's a radar "absorbent" skin. Older stealth craft depended more on the shape of the craft to deflect radar signals.

It was probably something that was 15-20 years in development and is now finally revealed.

But I don't see the point in having stealth technology, when you can just create false radar signatures. No matter how much radar absorbent coating you have, the radar is going to bounce off and you're going to be detected. So why not just put a radar amplifier on a bird or a toy plane and just overwhelm the opponent with the number of radar signals they get.
