Why should we? They have to pay Federal taxes, yet are allowed no representation. It's not like that's unAmerican or anything.

Senate won't house might.
Given the situation, it be a great chance to f**k over the democrats. Who cares, no election now for at least 2 years an not in a conciliatory mood. ITs also, at the moment in their rational interest to do so.
Its also something they could threaten to block, in exchange for something else.
Its certainly not impossible.
