3 million vote difference between Mittens and O-rock. Yes thats a pretty big win. Suggesting its a cultural revolution however and democratic hegemony is in the offing.. Its just really not a great idea given the divided nature of your political system.

8 years of Obama basically being able to get nothing big done, is not going to reflect well on the democrats in 2016 or 2014 for that matter.

Funny thing about Romney getting only 25% or so of the Latino vote is Bush 2 got about 45% of the Latino vote..Why? One reason was Bush wanted to give illegals full amnesty.. Is that radical and 'liberal'? Well not if you consider that the father of modern conservatism, Ronald Reagan didn't just want to do it, he GAVE illegals amnesty.. LOL

So Reagan, the man virtually every TP person and/or to the right Republican points to as us needing to go to Reagan's policies gave illegals amnesty?

You can't make this stuff up.

If the TP stayed with it's small government, less spending agenda the GOP probably would have been fine.. But once they took over the GOP and started their crusade against any and all social issues, and demographics they don't like, that was it. The Latinos, the women, the young started to push back.

I said this before the election, and it applies even more now after it. If the republicans want to become a viable party again on the national level, they're not just going to have to adapt to racial demographics. They're going to have to go from a party where there is no home for socially liberal moderates and libertarians, to a party where there is no home for people like Rick Santorum or Sarah Palin. It also needs to stop being the only modern party that openly shuns it's own dwindling intellectuals.

franz, this was a slam dunk for the republicans. a meh president with a rocky economy and unpopular legislation.

and the results?

democrats GAINED seats in the house and the senate and CRUSHED romney in the electoral college. and it's not the number of seats but WHO LOST THEM.

joe walsh, todd akin, allan west, all republican darlings. gone. voted out. by huge margins in some cases.

it was an electoral rejection of the GOP. pure and simple.
