The problem with the original scenario is that there are two departments for which you can't get by with a generic job description. Production and Sales. And without these two, there is no profit. You could slightly adjust this model by creating an only incoming sales staff. That is, you put people on phones to take orders and create an advertisement division to generate incoming calls, though I think they may struggle with having no product details. Even providing a name might corrupt the idea and drive them one way or another.
You would also have to "fake" production by having some sort of complicated order form by which people request inventory to be sold, providing a description of what is to be ordered and sold. Then have someone on the other end in the "know" that is tasked with acquiring the things being ordered. This would probably end up at a loss though, having no idea how to price since the cost wouldn't be known.
