Petraeus Steps Down

I saw an interview with her about 7-8 months ago. I guess she was making the rounds, humping(no pun intended) her book..

She was very open and out front about how much access she got to Petraeus.. And I remember thinking then it seemed alittle strange she would go to functions with him.. She said she would go running in the mornings with him, almost every morning.. She went on trips with him.. She sounded like she was with him, and went everywhere with him for many, many months.

I don't know.. It seemed weird. Most of the authors I've heard talk about doing a bio on someone they usually say they sat down,they talk to the person they're doing the bio on 6-8-10 times at their home, or office, and that's it.. But this woman went EVERYWHERE with Petraeus. She made it sound like she was with him almost constantly. And IMO, it just sounded strange.

I honestly could give a rip where he puts his pecker. And seeing that he can't be blackmailed since it's public now, I'm not sure why he resigned.

Dharma is right. This isn't just some existential question of loyalty. Adultery is a quick way to lose your security clearance and be investigated. So is having too much financial debt. Even lower-enlisted nobodies with secret or top secret clearances can't have an affair exposed without their clearances immediately coming into question. We're talking about the goddamn DIRECTOR OF THE CIA. If he wouldn't have resigned on his own, he would have eventually been pressured to do so anyway. He did the right/smart thing.
