well being a student four years ago makes me intimately more close to my district than someone as far removed from the education process as you.

Clarino, not all school districts in the US have tenure. Teachers can be let go in those areas.

Read my earlier comment. There's no such thing as tenure in the UK either. Firing teachers is next to impossible unless they molest the kids.
