I think we covered all of this in another thread, iirc, it was either britain or ireland that had the largest bean consumption. It was 2 or 3 times that of American consumption per capita. This isn't a bad thing, as I think beans are pretty great food, and everyone should probably be eating more of them. Cheap and healthy and tasty. Trifecta of win, really.
It was a bit of culture shock the first time I found them on my plate at breakfast, but it works, kinda.
And wtf...cowboy food? Beans are like...ancient. Depressing that people across the pond are learning American history from Blazing Saddles.
But considering the cheese nonsense, not at all surprising.
